Hello February!

Gleeful gloats sooner than I expected!

Shockingly, there was a rummage sale this weekend!! Whoohoo!!! After no yard sale activity on my part since mid December, you can imagine my surprise and absolute delight seeing the one ad in the paper Friday evening.
And an indoor church sale to add to the "Yay" factor.
On the down side, Johanna wasn't able to accompany me and won't for a while. She had shoulder surgery on Tuesday and will be out of commision during recovery. But when I visited her Saturday afternoon, I was able to regale her with my morning activity.

The sale began at 7am and since it was a rather cool 23 degrees that morning, I elected to arrive around 6:50 so I wouldn't have to stand in line for too long. Not a long line fortunately and we all scooted in quickly as soon as the door opened.

Lots of goodies to be had in a small space but since there wasn't a crowd, it made hunting easy and manageable. Quickly my bags filled up and started to be quite heavy. Ugh! Wish I had brought my pink cart.

I needed a smaller pot for my recent houseplant addition and I liked the green one very much especially since it had felt round at the base. Nice touch. Since the white and blue pot was only 50c I popped that in my bag as well. Nice to have an extra one handy. Both have no holes which is what I wanted. Just need a pretty "cover" for the not so pretty plastic pots the plants come in.

Green pot: $1. White and blue: 50c

There were lots of nice shoes for $1 each. I bagged these two. The black pair are Merrill brand which are one of my favorites. The picture isn't so good but I will describe: They're simple flats. Very comfortable and just my size!
The Crocs looked brand new as well. The darker hue on the right one is simply the shading from the light. These I will sell.

Shoes: $1 each

After my luck selling Christmas sweaters in December I have decided to start stock piling any I find at a cheap price. And here is my first find of the  2014 season! There are actually jingle bells sewn in at the bottom. I just need to tie the ribbons attached to them into bows. Later, I have time.
Christmas vest: 50 cents.

I have my grandmother's ceramic Christmas tree (which I had to rewire this month; I will show what I used in another post) but these two cuties captured my heart.  They're only 6 inches tall and yes, they're missing a couple of balls but just a couple. Easy to replace. The ceramic tree goes on top of a small light attached to the base.  The photo below is similiar to mine.

I liked the holly leaf at the base of each one. Brenna wants one and I will check to see if Ellie would like the other. If not, it's mine!!

75 cents each!
I moved on to another area and found this Thirty-one bag, new in original package. This is a retired pattern for a purse that you can change the cover. This is a cover. I have it posted for sale and someone is buying it. We meet tomorrow. Sold for $10. Ones similiar to this one are selling on Ebay for $20 with free shipping so I am comfortable with my price and profit.

The hats are for me. After 2 years of warm winters, I had given away my old hats and had not replaced them when "out and about".  Just hadn't been on my radar. However, this has been a cold winter and it isn't over yet! My parka is quite noisy when I put my hood up so I definitely need a warm hat when the wind blows in below freezing temps! Especially when Honey Bea is taking her sweet time choosing the perfect spot! So these have been washed, dried and ready for the next cold snap.

Thirty-one purse cover: 50cents. Hats: 50 cents. BARGAIN!!!

Kids shoes can sell well. Hey, kids grow! So these I will sell since they're too small for Nate, Hugh and Beau.
All children's shoes: 50c each

I bought the Santa cupcake ornament for our tree. It looked brand new. Cute and petite. The hat is for me. Life is Good is another of my favorite brands. And I do wear hats yardsaling
(bed hair first thing in the morning must be hidden!)
Hat: 50c and obviously the ornament: 50c!

Yes, more shoes. I told you they had a great selection. The flats by Bandolino went to Brenna. I don't think they were ever worn. The suede clogs by Lands End I sold for $10. Again, like new.
Shoes: $1 each
The metal chicken is the first thing that went into my bag. It is rather large. from floor to top of the comb, it's approximately 20" high! But I knew I could sell it. And I did!

Cockadoodledoo!! $4
Hi Ho Cherry-o was a fun game my girls enjoyed when they were little. This goes to Hugh, for his birthday.

$1
My friend Tere has a 3 year old granddaughter. Tere has asked me to look out for toys she can have at her home when Amelia comes to visit. This wood "paper" doll with clothes is magnetic and easy for little hands to use. The blue stand keeps her in place. There is a clear acrylic top that slides over the wood box.

$2

Another good find were these gardening tools. They're for my nephew Jon to use for his landscape business. All in excellent condition. It's been a while since I have found goodies for Jon. I was excited to pick these up.

And that's it for now folks. There were a few other bits and pieces but I think this is sufficient. Hope you found some bargains this week too.
Looks like Saturday is going to be cold and raining so I don't hold out much hope for sales. But, hey, you never know!

Happy Thrifting,

Thrifty Christy
